November 10, 2012 was the 237th birthday of the
Marine Corp., and today we honor those who have fought for our country and those
who currently serve and protect us.
Today is not simply a day off work, but a day for remembrance of what
our country has fought for, and how thankful we are for those who choose to
give themselves to the safety of our country and to fighting for our future. We can live the lives we live without fear
because of these men and women. When
searching Google for remembrance quotes and topics to honor our veterans, I came
across the following:
A hero is someone who
has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.

Courage is almost a
contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of
readiness to die.

These men and women
are heroes and I believe we should take a moment today to realize the
commitment they give to our country, and to be thankful for all they have
fought for and defended for us.
